Daisies

Good evening crafters and followers.  Gosh am I glad it is Friday.  I have had a busy week at work and still have loads to clear on Monday from the bank holiday.  Plus the house is in a complete mess.  You know when you want one little thing and it just snowballs.  Well, hubby and I decided we wanted a woodburner so that meant getting the fireplace sorted suitable to take one then we wanted a new fire surround, and ofcourse that meant wallpapering the chimney breast which meant painting it which means we need to decorate the rest of the room which also means we thought we would change the door too and take the curtains down and have blinds and so on and so on.  At the moment we have furniture every where added to that we had a skip over the bank holiday to clear out the loft. Gosh, I really didn't realise I had that much junk up there.

Well onto my post which is what you have popped along for.  I am into C5 cards at present as you will have noticed.  I punched around the edges of a piece of white card and distress inked it.  I stamped a creative expressions swirl on another piece of card using a cosmich shimmer embossing powder and embossed it using a couture one world embossing folder finishing off with distress ink around the edges.  The daisy stamp is a creative expressions stamp which I just love, it is so useful.  All finished off with an xcut daisy die stencilled with distress ink burlap and die cut some marianne die leaves.

Thanks for stopping by.  See you soon I hope and take care.

Clean & Simple - Thinking of You

Hi fellow crafters and followers.  Hope you are all well today and enjoyed your Bank Holiday. Gosh I have had a busy one this time.  No crafting though, much to my dismay but we are in the middle of decorating our lounge, had a skip to empty the loft and met my nieces wife who has bravely moved from America to here.  Yes I did make them a wedding card and yes it will appear on my blog at some stage but it was good to meet her and see Sara since her wedding in America.  Hopefully will get some crafting done tomorrow -no decided - will definitely get some crafting done tomorrow. or should I say today as it is now Tuesday.

Today's post is a card I made for the Craftateers blog. The challenge was Punches and Die cuts and was Sheila's choice.

This was an easy one for me as I use spellbinders on every card.  I always struggle with layouts and went to Paper Playful to find a sketch.

I began with a C5 card in centura pearl.  I then matted another piece of centura pearl after pricking around the edges in Sue Wilson style.  I found a suitable size piece of sea green centura pearl in my 'bit box' and embossed it using an embossing folder from Couture - Encaustic.  I then die cut a piece of white centura pearl using Blossom 5 spellie and before embossing I placed a stencil from Imagination Crafts - Butterfly Blossom - under my die and then ran it through to emboss.

My punch is a Martha Stewart border punch.  I stamped and clear embossed the sentiment and finally found a small flower which I had made from the Martha Stewart paper clay, covered it with perfect medium and put some WOW White Twinkle embossing glitter on and embossed that.

The sketch was from a Clean and Simple Challenge 248.  If you follow this link to the website there is a PDF facility to access sketches from previous challenges.  So if ever you are stuck for a layout that would be a good starting point.

Thanks for stopping bye.  Take care.

Zentangle Dream

Hi fellow crafters and followers.  I do hope you are all well and enjoying your crafting.

I have just spent a fantastic weekend with my Mom at Warner Leisure Cricket St Thomas in Somerset.  Very relaxing, missed my crafting a little but our 'mommy/daughter' weekend was lovely. Spending quality time with my Mom is always brilliant.  The weather was a bit mixed but it didn't spoil it for us.

Today was back to work with a long drive to Manchester for a meeting.  Back in my home office tomorrow and then off again for the weekend.  Gosh its a hard life!

My post today is, as you can see, Zentangle.  Not mine though, this is a stamp from Creative Expressions.  I have used a C5 base card and with a black pen drew some faux stitching around the edges.  Matt and layering using black card and some striped card from my crafter stash.
CoOrdinations White Wash card, embossed with dots and sanded off.  All finished off with card candi. Dream also comes with the flower stamp and both are mounted.  Good value and a lovely stamp.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my blog.  Take care.

Have a Wonderful Day.

Good evening everyone.  How are today?  Well I had the best time at the Great British Craft Festival on Saturday.  I was very critical of last years show and venue, but decided to give them another try this year because it had been moved to Stoneleigh who are a venue used to dealing with large turnouts.  I was not disappointed.  I went with my crafty mate Wendy and we had a brilliant time.  The venue was excellent, it was very well organised with only minimal queueing, nothing I wouldn't expect at any event of this type.  Those hunkydory gals and guys worked really hard so a big thankyou for such a brilliant event.  If it is held at this venue next year we will certainly be going.  It's great to have a craft event in between the two NEC ones.  Yes I spent loads but I needed it all honestly!

Well onto my post today.  I made this for a mate's birthday card hence the sentiment, regular visitors to my blog will have noticed I very rarely add sentiments to the outside of my cards.

All of the diecuts are spellbinders.  The flowers are stamped using cosmic shimmer pink lustre embossing powder.  I have to own up that I cannot remember whose stamps they are I am sorry.
I have then finished it off by adding pink pearls using cosmic shimmer antique pink glue around the outside.

Thankyou for stopping by and checking out my blog.  Also for your comments, I do so love reading your thoughts and they are appreciated.  Take care.  See you soon.

Roses - Dimensions.

Hi everyone.  These Fridays do come around quickly for me anyway.  Weather hasn't been brilliant either today, dull and promising rain but luckily not following through.  Hope it is nice tomorrow as I will be off to Stoneleigh and the Great British Craft Fayre with my mate Wendy for some chilling out girls time and retail therapy.

So, my post today, a C5 card.  Some matting and layering going on with a little bit of pricking top and bottom.  The embossed band across the centre is a 2x12 embossing folder from crafters and you can just see a border spellbinders too.

The image is a stamp from Dimension Stamps embossed in Cosmic Shimmer Sunrise Pink Lustre embossing powder die cut with a spellbinder and inked around the edges with spun sugar distress ink.

The flourish is spellbinders and the flowers are Marianne dies all topped off with some card candy.

Thank you for popping in and checking out my blog.  Also for any comments you leave.

Until next time, take care.
